rune question - Guild Wars Forums

Ok if i want to open a rune or a staff wrapping etc for PvP...i must...

1. buy the rune and use it? will unlock?

2.expert salvage blue/purple/gold items? when i get it ..its unlocked..and i can sell it, but it will still be available in PvP... but i dont have to use it?

i'm not sure about buying it from another character, but i do know once you have identified an item with that rune it is unlocked in pvp from then on. you don't have to salvage it and use it though it's just unlocked
